Chef John Burke originally trained in Vancouver, and has been practising his craft for over twenty years. He began his career at the prestigious Wedgewood Hotel and has worked in the kitchens of Vancouver restaurants Pastis and Cru. Throughout his eleven years in Penticton, John has worked in several kitchens in the Okanagan, including Hillside Bistro and The Bench Market. He also honed his butchery skills at A&K Grimm’s Sausage. For five wonderful years, he was eager and happy to showcase his style of cooking for the wonderful customers of Front Street Brasserie, of which he was co-owner and Executive Chef. He now brings that dedication, enthusiasm and culinary ability to his new venture with wife Lisa, Brasserie Provisions.
Lisa Baxter-Burke has been a part of the hospitality business for over twenty years. She has become a seasoned wine professional working with premium wine agencies Empson and Winspeer/Trialto, and was the Sales and Marketing Director for Hillside Winery in Naramata. As co-owner and front of house expert, she ran the operations of Front Street Brasserie with a smile and deft hand. Lisa's operatic background and love for all music, has inspired the Front Street Brasserie playlist on Spotify (please feel free to enjoy!) Her passion is bringing elevated customer service with a personal touch and ensuring that exceptional wine pairings are always offered to complete your experience.
